How does aligner therapy work?
Aligners are clear plastic trays that fit precisely over your teeth. Each tray moves the teeth a small step further into the planned position. After one to two weeks you switch to the next tray.
The entire treatment is planned digitally in advance – you see the likely result before it begins. The aligners are removable: you eat and brush as usual.

Costs & cost plan
The cost depends on the extent of the misalignment and the treatment duration. Aligner therapy for adults is usually a private service. After the digital scan and planning you receive a transparent cost plan – instalment payments are often possible.
Frequently asked questions
Are the aligners noticeable?
Hardly. The aligners are transparent and sit thinly on the teeth – in everyday life and in photos they usually go unnoticed. For many adults this is the key advantage over fixed brackets.
How long does the treatment take?
That depends on the starting situation. Minor corrections can succeed within a few months, while more extensive cases take longer. After the digital planning we can estimate the likely duration well.
How many hours do I need to wear the aligner?
As a rule around 22 hours a day – that is all day and overnight, removed only for eating and dental care. Consistent wearing time is the most important factor for success.
Is the treatment painful?
At the start of each new tray a slight feeling of pressure can occur – a sign that the teeth are moving. It usually eases after one or two days and is considerably more comfortable than many people know from fixed braces.
Are aligners suitable for everyone?
Many misalignments can be treated very well with aligners, but not all. Whether the therapy is suitable for you is something we clarify in a consultation appointment with a digital scan.
What happens after the treatment?
So that the teeth stay in their new position, a stabilisation phase follows with a retainer – a thin tray or a fixed wire behind the teeth.
